Thanks for visiting/commenting on my blog! I'm sorry I don't have anything as interesting as nose-picking to offer, but then, that's one of those things that us high-society types never do; we hire people to do it for us. Or something.

you can pick your nose
and you can pick your friends

but you can't pick your friend's nose.

as you can see, i've been reading Eats, Shoots & Leaves

I just love the sociological implications of this- what would it take for someone, when asked about their interests, to think, "hmmm, lessee here, stamp collecting, throwing darts, and OH YES, I LOVE PICKING MY NOSE!".

Additionally, consider the fact that this was not a one-off occurrence.

What I'm wondering is... Whatever made you look for such a thing?! Or did you happen upon it accidentally?

nope, sarah, i think he LOOKS for it!
oldhall: as i read thru your blog...i'm trying to figure your intent. i surmise you love food! (now if you said that to me, i'd be offended, tho 'tis some true, somewhat a complete lie: i think i have a love/hate relationship w/ food) but it IS obvious since you so completely describe your food and all about it's consumption, preparation, etc. very interesting. if so, man, i thought you might have named your blog differently.

but, as i've said to your wife, i'm new to this, so, wonder, if i went back to your first post, would you describe your intentions?

other than that, it seems to me you love to be funny and you love to put in funny, sometimes inconsequential, sometimes appropriate pics! is your field mathematics, chemistry, or computers?

how is your back? did you have surgery? ARE you back to work? are you still sleeping sitting up in a chair?

ah well..i'll probe further in your archives! =)
God Bless you and your pb&j today. I'll be praying you don't break any teeth...maybe it's time for a change! esp after reading about 'rat poo'!

i guess there's something refreshing about someone who really speaks his mind...or his stomach.

whassup?

kt- Presuming you'll come back & look at this...

As my High School German teacher, Mr. Stephans, once said, "you asked a serious question, I'll give you a serious answer"

I used to enjoy the creativity associated with writing, although I never enjoyed the criticism inherent in school-age writing. So, this is a simply a chance to re-kindle some of those creative juices (wait-a-minute, wouldn't juices EXTINGUISH, not re-kindle? watch dem mixed metaphors!)

I am a physicist by education, I'm glad I did it, I couldn't do it now!

My back feels fine now, I didn't need surgery, I just have to be gentle now, and not do anything that might re-pinch the nerve (like... boxing)

when he says boxing he means wrapping presents.

.....oh, I do like presents.

Don't like milk chocolates, though.
Only the dark kind will do the trick. Wouldn't even mind some nuts mixed in.....

And, as long as we are talking about food... went to "The Malt Shovel" today and ordered the seemingly ever-ready Turkey... and I do assure you... it was good, juicy and savory... which means one mustn't have anything sweet with it as my Brit. friends then informed me. In other words... no cranberry sauce. And I shall tell you what accompanied my turkey feast... it was chips (french fries to you Yanks)together with vinegar in its special little bottle.
I don't know... having lived in the U.S. for all those years and having partaken in those many family Thanksgiving turkey dinners... something was surely amiss. Somehow those chips dipped in vinegar didn't hit the spot.

.....and...
may I touch on the nose picking - I mean on the subject - not on the results of the search within the nose cavity....

Did you know the results of a survey they did on the most annoying habits that some people harbor? In case you want to know - and mind you... I don't want to become intrusive... (ha-ha), but
nose picking took the honor of being in the number one spot of most irritating habits.
2. was snoring (not quite fair)
3. Teeth-grinding (also, not fair)
4. Knuckle-cracking (mustn't do it)
5. Finger-tapping (well, not too
bad)
6. Braking wind (surely a no-no)
7. Humming (yes, irritating)
8. Leg-jiggling ( oh?)
9. Whistling (might be nice, huh?)
10.Nail-biting (if you don't really swallow, isn't too bad, is it?)
