Elton John

I can think of two reasons why I don't like Elton John.

The first reason is that yesterday, absolutely out of the blue, Candle in the Wind starting going through my head. My, but that is an annoying song!

The second reason is the way, in Candle in the Wind, he says, 'I'd like to have known you, but I was just a kid'. The reason I don't like that, is that- you always see Elton in glossy magazines having his picture taken with 'the latest sensation', it's as if Elton can read about some up-and-coming person, and he has the right to meet them, no matter who they are, and then he feels like he knows them. So then, in the song, he's lamenting that it's impossible for him to have that all happen with Marilyn. Well... (exasperated) that's just tough cookies for you, Elton! Suck it up, like the rest of us!

I just have to tell you... I stopped reading IPM's blog halfway through to follow the link to your latest post.

Now I have to go back to hers and finish it...

hey, did you know that Elton John rhymes with Delta Dawn?

Elton John, what's the flower you have on...

just popped into my head!

As an old acquaintance of mine once said, just sing "Rhinestone Cowboy", and you will have erased all annoying songs from your head. Then, of course, you now have another problem...

And, ipod, I will never listen to "Delta Dawn" again without your deft alteration to the lyrics. May I further destroy that song by substituting "What's that flower you have on" with "Look at them glasses you have on" ?

I am so glad there is another human being in the world who doesn't like Elton John. Well, I don't like him much, anyway.

i like some of his songs...not being the 'CON-A-SEWER' that you are of music. they are catchy is all. but in real life HE is way too flashy for me.

rhinestone cowboy, eh? i always use Jesus Loves Me when the kids get some irritating redundant song in MY head. in fact, the minute i say, OH! I CANNOT GET THAT SONG OUTTA MY HEAD! they say, SING JESUS LOVES ME, MOMMY!

I've never been a big fan, but I'm also too young to have experienced all that Sir Elton has presented.

LOL on Elton John. And thanks for the link for the hand health! No, I didn't think it was spam. I've noticed though that there are some commenters who simply leave you some advert as a comment. Have you gotten one of those?
Thanks for thinking of me! I've been using a squeezy ball. It hasn't hurt in a couple of days now so I think I'll go back to knitting and see how it holds up.

Sorry - this comment has absolutely nothing to do with your post, although I can think of many reasons to dislike Elton John. Last trip to the grocery store, Alan bought these things called Grapples (with a long 'a') that are apples which supposedly taste like grapes. They didn't, exactly, but they smelled a lot like grape bubble gum. They were...interesting. Anyway, I thought of you and your fondness for Fujis & wondered if you'd seen/tried Grapples.
